Where do you work?

I work as a scientist in weed ecology and weed management at the Institute for Plant Protection and Environment in Belgrade, Serbia.

What is your main task?

My main interest in weed research is resource competition and weed interactions, crops and the surrounding environment with main tasks about weed management and safe crop production.

What is your main interest in weed research?

I do research in several aspects like biological and ecological characteristics of weeds and integrated weed management on different cropping systems, with providing support to establish the way for new crop protection strategies without chemical pesticides. More specifically, I am very interested in the competition between plants, allelopathy, plant adaptability and transgenerational, weed population variability, plant behavior under stressful conditions, soil seed banks, weed seed germination and statistical modelling.

Which activities do you plan to promote to reach the objectives of the Working Group?

I would like to support young scientists from around the world and increase their participation in EWRS activities, organization of meetings and workshops, and collaboration with other working groups. Cooperation through learning and training, socializing and starting new projects will enable the development of a higher quality scientific system that will more effectively manage problems in agricultural production and environmental protection.
