Call for bids to host the 21st EWRS Symposium in 2027

Dear EWRS members,

As you all know, EWRS Symposia are the major event of the European Weed Research Society and the next one will be held in Lleida-Spain between 1-4 July 2025.  Such a big and highly regarded symposium represents the most important forum of our  Society for meeting, interacting and discussing weed science-related issues with scientists from across Europe and around the world.

The 21st EWRS Symposium is scheduled for 2027. If you are interested in hosting this important event, please send a Letter of intent (by e-mail) to Prof.Dr. Hüsrev Mennan (hmennan@omu.edu.tr ) before 01 May 2025. To give the EWRS Scientific Committee a sound basis for evaluating the received proposals, please indicate;

  • The requirements (visa, health insurance, etc.) to enter your country;
  • The situation, size, and facilities of the venue;
  • The accommodation facilities for participants (estimated cost range);
  • Estimated conference fees,
  • The public transport facilities (international connections, e.g. airports, railway stations, etc.);
  • The names of the institutions and local EWRS members who are willing to actively participate in the Programme Committee;
  • Any other issues that might play in favour of your suggested venue;
  • The prospective symposium host must demonstrate that they have the capacity and experience for the planning and administration of organizing such a large and high-profile international event.

The EWRS Scientific Committee will actively help to organize the Symposium in close connection with the Local Organizing Committee. As usual, all EWRS Working Group coordinators will offer their assistance to put together the Scientific Programme of the Symposium.

The venue selected to host the 21st EWRS Symposium will be announced during the closing session of the 20th EWRS Symposium (Lleida, Spain).
