Dr. Marrone spent her 30+ year career focused on discovering, developing, and deploying biological products for pest management and plant health.
She has developed and commercialized more than 10 EPA-registered biopesticide products, two of which have received the Presidential Green Chemistry Award and are global sales leaders in their categories. Among her many awards, in 2023 she was the first woman to receive the American Chemical Society “Kathryn C. Hach Award for Entrepreneurial Success.” In the same year, she launched the Invasive Species Corporation with her co-founder Jim Boyd to discover, develop and deploy microbial natural product solutions to control invasive species in water and agriculture. ISC’s discovery platform has yielded candidates for weed control; two of these have been moved to development.
