In 2025 the EWRS Working Group Biological Control launched a webinar series highlighting the variety of aspects encompassed by biological control as a management tool for weed control. Continuing in 2026 experts in their respective fields will present topics of weed biocontrol in the individual webinars with recordings of past presentations being available here :
1) Webinar 'Classical Weed Biocontrol – Experiences from the UK and the scope for European collaboration'
Speaker: Sonal Varia, CABI UK, on 12th November 2025
2) Webinar 'Trichilogaster: the story of a gall wasp that crossed hemispheres to control long lived wattle'
Speaker: Hélia Marchante, CERNAS, Portugal, on 11th February 2026
Individual webinars will be announced on the EWRS website and shared on social media. Participation is free but requires registration via a link made available prior to the upcoming webinar.
Please join us to learn more about the scope and breadth biological control can contribute to a sustainable, environmentally friendly and cost-effective weed management and to engage with the discussions.
